It will be up to Oceania Cruises’ Riviera to inaugurate the new cruise season in the port of Salerno: on Saturday 8 April the first tourists of the new year will land in the city and the arrival of the first large cruise ship, just before Easter, will be a harbinger of many pleasant surprises during the long season which, from spring until almost Christmas, will bring thousands and thousands of tourists.
The year 2023 for Salerno and the Maritime Station will be that of the definitive launch into the Cruise Industry panorama: confirmation came from the satisfaction obtained at the “Seatrade Cruise Global 2023” held last week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. At the most important event in cruise tourism, where the world’s largest shipowners are present, the offer of the Salerno terminal, the standard of services it is equipped with, the strategic position and the beauty of the destination have met with considerable success.
Over seventy calls are expected this season at the Zaha Hadid Maritime Station: some companies have confirmed last season’s calls, others have added others, such as Royal Caribbean, which plans a call for the Odyssey of the Seas, flagship of the fleet. Furthermore, a truly grand return: an MSC Cruises ship, the MSC Opera, will return to dock at Molo Manfredi on May 5th.
The program of the new season will be illustrated on Thursday 6 April at 11 am in the Banner Hall of the Municipality of Salerno. The president of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority, Andrea Annunziata, the commander of the Port Authority of Salerno, Attilio Maria Daconto, the mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo Napoli, the municipal councilor for Tourism, Alessandro Ferrara, the president of “Salerno Cruises Srl, Giuseppe Amoruso, the president of “Salerno Stazione Marittima SpA”, Giuseppe Gallozzi, and the CEO of the company, Orazio De Nigris.
