After the announcement of Tool and Avenged Sevenfold, the dEUS concert is also official, who will take the stage at the Visarno Arena in Florence on Saturday June 15th before Tool, headliner of the day. The renowned Belgian band dEUS makes its return to Italy after the memorable 2023 concert in Milan. Their most recent album “How To Replace It”, released on February 17, 2023, marked a triumphant recording return for this historic rock band. Now, in the summer of 2024, dEUS are preparing to bring an eclectic and unmistakable show to the stage of Firenze Rocks, promising an unforgettable experience for Italian fans of their music.

With its sixth edition, Firenze Rocks once again demonstrates its ability to present the most anticipated stars of world music on the stage of the Visarno Arena. On Thursday 13 June, the headliners will be Avenged Sevenfold. This date at the Visarno Arena marks a long-awaited return to Italy for the Californian heavy metal band. On Saturday 15 June, however, the headliners will be Tool, who have chosen to return to Firenze Rocks after five years of absence from our country, promising to give fans an extraordinary and memorable experience. dEUS

In 1991, Tom Barman, Stef Kamil Carlens, Klaus Janson, Jules deBorgher and Rudy Trouvé founded the group dEUS. However, it was only in 1994 that their debut album, “Worst Case Scenario”, saw the light of day. This work mixes the indie-rock of Pixies and Sonic Youth with experiments that incorporate violins and jazz. Subsequently, in 1995, the group released the EP “My sister is my clock”, characterized by 13 songs in a single track. In 1996, dEUS released the follow-up to their successful debut, “In A Bar, Under The Sea”. In 1997, Stef Kamil Carlens left the group to focus fully on the Zita Swoon project. 1999 saw the release of the band’s third album, “The Ideal Crash”, which cleverly blended experimental and melodic elements. After the success achieved with “The Ideal Crash”, the band disappeared for a certain period, re-emerging in 2005 with the album “Pocket Revolution”, which saw only Barman and Jansons as original members, joined by Stéphane Misseghers, Alan Gevaert and Mauro Pawlowski. In 2008, after having founded a recording studio in their hometown, dEUS released “Vantage Point”, a slightly more pop album than their previous works. It took another three years before the group released a new album of unreleased material, “Keep You Close”, in 2011, which received widespread acclaim from critics and the public, returning to a more rock sound.

Surprisingly, on June 1, 2012, the band released “Following Sea”, which continues the path traced by its predecessor and includes the first song in French ever sung by Tom Barman and his companions (“Quatre mains”), offering a sort of soundtrack for a spy thriller. Other notable tracks include ‘Nothings’, ‘The Soft Fall’ and ‘Crazy About You’. dEUS have never had a real philosophy. They never wanted one. Yet they remained faithful to some guiding principles. ‘How To Replace It’, their eighth studio album and first in ten years released on February 17, 2023, is distinctive and inventive, melodic but decidedly outside the box. Unique. And above all, unmistakably dEUS.
