06.14.2024 – Once upon a time at school a line was drawn on the blackboard, dividing the students into two categories. And it harks back to that bygone time «Good | Cattivi”, the “tout public” show signed by Michelangelo Campanale for the company The Moon in the Bed That Ippolito Chiarello brings to the stage on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June (7pm), at the Vallisa auditorium in Bari, for the last appointment of the event «Crossroads» of the Diaghilev company supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Bari.

Freely taken from «Story of a naughty child. The Story of a Good Child” by Mark Twain, directed and set by Michelangelo Campanale himself (lighting by Michelangelo Volpe and costumes by Maria Pascale), «Buoni | Cattivi” presents itself as a hilarious and engaging story through which spectators of all ages are catapulted into the creative and anarchic game of art, into the cynical and overwhelming invention of a now grown-up child, played by Ippolito Chiarello, who last year for his performance as an actor received a special mention at the national children’s theater festival Festebà in Ferrara for the «ability to lead the spectator to imagine, before his own eyes, the good and the bad».

The story is that of an older writer who wanders with a small moon among the people and moves in the world of children still looking for something, a confirmation or a denial. Always witty and ironic in his language, the man brings to the surface, from the depths of his personal memory, events linked to his childhood and memories of elementary school, when with the classic shrill sound of chalk on the blackboard, his teacher, an eccentric and feared, she drew with her cold and gnarled hand a dividing line, on the sides of which every day she marked the fate of many girls and boys, divided into good and bad.

A way to speak from the stage to the new and old generations with a show through which the artistic partnership between Michelangelo Campanale and Ippolito Chiarello is consolidated and deepened, always looking for a form of narration between real or imagined experiences and both attentive observers of a reality which, as very often happens, does not coincide with the truth.

Tickets 10 euros (reduced for children up to 12 years, 2 euros) can be purchased online on the vivaticket circuit or at the box office by booking on 333.1260425.
