CIVITAVECCHIA – «Once again Forza Italia demonstrates that it puts the reasons for centre-right unity before any political gain». The Civitavecchia coordinator of Forza Italia, Roberto D’Ottavio, intervenes in view of the run-off round on Sunday and Monday, indicating what the path the party will follow.

«The choice to support Massimiliano Grasso’s candidacy for mayor of Civitavecchia without any hesitation and with great determination in the second round of the ballot – explained D’Ottavio – has first and foremost the political objective of not handing the city over to a colorful and already divided internally, which, in order to compete in the second round, from a clearly minority position, decided to join the 5 Star Movement in an alliance clearly contradictory on a political and programmatic level and therefore destined to fall apart at the first administrative difficulties. To this pact of pure power we instead want to present a center-right that is coherent and united on values and on the program, for the relaunch of an important city like Civitavecchia, a neighbor of the Capital, on the eve of the Great Jubilee of 2025 and with the season of great European investments at the gates, which will have to see the people of Civitavecchio as protagonists and not just extras, for the growth of our province and the Lazio region. It is clear that a municipal administration led by the centre-right, in line with what happens at a national and regional level, would have a greater capacity to impact the needs of the city. We want and must create new jobs in Civitavecchia, over 400 thousand have been created throughout the country by the current executive, and above all we want to support those who do business: small and medium-sized companies, the world of agriculture, fishing, commerce and craftsmanship. For this reason, on 23 and 24 June we make a clear appeal to our militants and voters to go to the polls to give their vote to Massimiliano Grasso, a unitary candidate of a united centre-right. We do not renounce – concluded D’Ottavio – our right to choose who governs us for the next five years and we do not delegate to the left a choice of freedom and good governance that is up to us alone with our choice and our vote”.
