The new headquarters of Hiteco, a Scm Group company, specialized in the development and production of high-tech mechatronic components for machine tool manufacturing companies, was inaugurated today in Rimini (Corpolò).

Founded in Villa Verucchio in 1977 as an internal department, with the aim of supplying components (electrospindles, bi-rotary heads, drilling heads and aggregates) to the group’s machines for processing wood and other materials, Hiteco has recorded a continuous growth over the decades. growth, also favored by a constant increase in exports to Europe, Asia and North America where it opened its own commercial branch in 2020.

A progressive development that has made Hiteco one of the larger producers in the world in the sector of high-tech components for numerical control machines dedicated to the processing of a wide range of materials such as wood, plastic, composites, glass, stone and metal.

Today Hiteco is a company 100% controlled by Scm Group and has a turnover of approximately 40 million euros, more than half of which comes from third parties.

The new headquarters in Rimini matters 9000 square meters in total compared to the 3000 of the previous headquarters in Villa Verucchio, of which over 7000 intended for the production area. Scm Group’s investment will allow Hiteco to potentially grow its workforce, as well as promoting production efficiency (completely made in Italy) and R&D activity. The projects specifically concern the development of new digital services, IoT systems And intelligent products equipped with artificial intelligence algorithmsas well as an expansion of the range in the stone, glass and metal processing sectors, including in optics Industry 5.0.

More spaces and greater competitiveness in the Italian and foreign markets will also result in more frequent collaborations with schools, universities and professional training bodies and in greater growth opportunities for its collaborators, also thanks to the training courses provided by Campus Scm Group for Hiteco and all the group companies.

Also highlighted sustainability of the new headquarters with a 356 kWp photovoltaic system, and the link with the history of the territory: the construction works made it possible, in fact, to find and recover archaeological sites and finds from the Roman era, specifically an ancient road layout of the road that connected the colony of Rimini to the city of Arezzo (via Ariminensis) together with a group of burials dating back to the same era.

Also present at the event were the authorities of the Emilia-Romagna Region, with the councilor Vincenzo Colla (economic development and green economy, work, training and international relations), the president of the Legislative Assembly Emma Petitti, the territorial authorities with the president of Province and mayor of Rimini Jamil Sadegholvaad, the municipal councilor for economic activities Juri Magrini, Dr. Federica Gonzato, Superintendent of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, adArte (the company that conducted the excavations) and various institutions representing the world of business and higher education.
