excellent passenger performance

CIVITAVECCHIA – The synergy between the world of ports continues, represented by Bear with meand that of economic research represented by SRM (study center connected to the Intesa Sanpaolo Group)launching a second 2024 issue of “Port Infographics Update 2024”a publication that aims to provide an immediate vision of the phenomena and main statistics on maritime transport and logistics, at a national and international level.

Again through the use of graphs and infographics, the impacts of events and events that are helping to shape economic trends and international trade are highlighted.

The contents of this special edition are divided into three distinct chapters.

The first chapter describes the main impacts on maritime trade due to the tensions that are crossing the Red Sea and which show no signs of ending. Maritime transport trends and in particular those of the Suez Canal are still complex.

The second chapter describes the trends in alternative fuels for shipping and green models, issues that have a strong impact on the competitiveness of our ports.

The last chapter hosts a special on work relating to the employment of women in Italian ports, detailed and exclusive numbers reported only in this publication.

COMMENTS «The collaboration with SRM has continued for some time and I am particularly satisfied – explained the president of Assoporti, Rodolfo Giampieri – as regards the strategic aspect of the study I would like to underline that, in addition to the data we collect and process relating to the trend of traffic of the ports in such a delicate period, we wanted to create a focus on sustainability and one that highlights the attention we are having towards female employment. The objective is to monitor this aspect both in the companies that operate in the ports and in the Port System Authority by providing correct numbers and analyzes and thus raising awareness of all the players in the sector on the topic”.

«The study we are conducting with Assoporti increasingly shows how much geopolitics is connected to the port and logistics world – added the general director of SRM, Massimo Deandreis – beyond the tensions of the Red Sea, sustainability has now also become a theme which affects port competitiveness; green port and green shipping are models that can no longer be ignored and on which we must focus strongly. Another fundamental theme is the work of women in port logistics on which we must pay attention and work so that we can achieve greater balance between male and female employment”.
