MASSA – The territorial control activity carried out by the Police Headquarters continues intense to prevent and combat petty crime in the municipality of Massa and guarantee the safety of citizens and tourists. In recent days, in implementation of decisions issued within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, chaired by the prefect of Massa-Carrara Guido Aprea, with a specific order from the police commissioner, Santi Allegra, an extraordinary joint service was set up with the use of Police squad cars, Carabinieri patrols and the help of crews from the Tuscany Crime Prevention Department of Florence which involved some areas of the city of Massa and the coast of Marina di Massa.
The operators’ attention was also focused on the control of abandoned and dilapidated structures, used by homeless people who find shelter there, but often also a meeting place for people engaged in criminal activities, in particular drug dealing. During the activity, a total of 96 people were identified, of which 6 were subject to police prejudice, and 58 vehicles were checked, with the imposition of an administrative fine of 173.00 euros for driving a non-compliant vehicle. presented for the required inspection. The objective that the Police Headquarters sets itself through these extraordinary “high impact” services is to increase the prevention and repression of the phenomena of petty crime, predatory crimes, home burglaries and drug dealing, to instill in the citizens a greater sense of security.
