The Bersaglieri of Montevarchi and all of Italy cross the finish line of 100 years of history. It was 1924 when the National Bersaglieri Association was born and the same also happened in Montevarchi. An anniversary that will be celebrated on 22 and 23 June with a large gathering in the city and with the twinning between the regions of Tuscany, Marche and Veneto.
Many initiatives are on the calendar and the program was presented by the mayor Silvia Chiassai Martini, by the ANB regional president Alfio Coppi, also in the presence of the ANB president of Montevarchi Francesco Biondini.
“A great event to celebrate 100 years of the Bersaglieri Association both at a national level and for the Montevarchina section, also founded in 1924 – states the Mayor – An important birthday, organized by the regional President Alfio Coppi who wanted to bring into the our city the twinning of the regions of Tuscany, Marche and Veneto with the performance on Saturday 22 June in Piazza Varchi, at 9.00 pm, of the three Fanfares, while on Sunday the feathered infantrymen will be protagonists along Via Roma, at 11.00 am, for the famous “in running” march ” which has always fascinated the population. The Bersaglieri are a symbol of the country, still engaged in the present and future in civil protection and volunteering activities, therefore a model to follow for the service rendered to the community”
“A milestone of 100 years coinciding with the National Bersaglieri Association which transforms Montevarchi into the capital of this anniversary for Tuscany – continues Coppi – An event divided into two days, with exhibitions, conferences, the fanfare concert, the ceremony at the stadium morning of Sunday 23 June, at 10.00, and the final parade along the city streets immediately afterwards. An event in which we will realize a twinning between the regions that we have had in mind for some time in the name of the spirit of brotherhood that animates the Bersagliere”
