Frost. “Our votes can be decisive for victory in the runoff.” Pino Federico, who like all the other candidates for the civic assembly is still awaiting the definitive data, is convinced that “Alleanza per Gela” could be the real factor in the run-off round. “We have given a mandate to Salvatore Scerra – says the former Ars parliamentarian – he is leading the negotiations. Personally, I think that the two candidates are absolutely equal. Even more so, the votes of “Alleanza per Gela”, which represents twenty-five percent of the city, can prove decisive”. According to reconstructions that are currently only unofficial, in the “Avanti Gela” list, the outgoing councilor Gabriele Pellegrino would retain his place in the classroom. However, the threshold of the big votes from five years ago has been drastically reduced, including that of Federico himself. “Our result was excellent – he adds – unlike the parties, we did not have the drag of the European elections. These are all votes that arrive for our project. Let’s not forget that this year there were more candidates and the number of voters was further reduced. It seems normal to me that the vote threshold for all candidates is decreasing rather than increasing.” Unlike what prevails in the two coalitions still competing, Federico identifies alliance as the solution to beat. “I don’t see any other path to follow – he underlines – we’ll see if there are coalitions ready to follow this line”.
