During today’s appointment with ‘A Tutta C’ on the frequencies of TMW Radio, the former general director of Brindisi spoke Pierluigi Valentini. These are his words.
Among the newly promoted teams besides Trapani, who are you curious about for the next championship?
“Trapani certainly has a dynamic president who wants to do great things, he challenged Milan and Bologna in basketball after rising to A1. Among the newly promoted teams, the one with the greatest economic strength is Campobasso, there is a president with great ideas. I was personally surprised by Braglia’s idea, but it’s clear that he was looking for an experienced profile. With Braglia, a solid club and the enthusiasm that the promotion brings, it can be an important outsider, then we will have to see which group Campobasso will be placed in.”
From which Group C club can we not expect another negative season?
“I have to be honest, this year’s group C was full of glory but not of extraordinary quality. This season I expect a higher level of quality, it’s a hell of a group because there are so many important places. In the last two years, especially this year, with the exception of Cesena the other promotions have been the result of surprises. Mantova came from a repechage, Juve Stabia didn’t have the expectations of the others and my friend Calabro’s Carrarese wasn’t the favourite. For me, Avellino will start as favourites, but pay attention to Catania because with Faggiano and Toscano they bring two champions who are two guarantees. I see the Benevento project as a bit confused, on the basis of the first moves seen while waiting for the transfer market to start, I believe that Avellino with their continuity and Catania with these choices will be the references of group C”.
Among the second teams, who can do the best things?
“I believe that Juve has already done something very special and I believe that the second team project is almost more intriguing than the first team project. Juventus and Atalanta are already certainties, I expect very important things from Milan who for this project have chosen an Ajax manager to directly follow the second team. He should go by regulation in group C and it will be interesting to see what Milan do next year.”
