L’AQUILA – The Serd takes the field against addictions with three initiatives. Campers on the streets to involve young people, actions to support families and conferences aimed at schools and the population: these are the three initiatives planned by ASL 1 Abruzzo, for the next few days, against addictions to alcohol, drugs and gambling, in collaboration with the voluntary association Vides Spes and with the Ideali social cooperative of L’Aquila.
The pathological addiction services (Serd) Avezzano and L’Aquila, directed by Dr Daniela Spaziani, they will take to the field with actions to involve the population, aimed at prevention and awareness, objectives which are an integral part of the mission of the healthcare company led by the Manager Ferdinand Romano.
The first event, regarding alcohol prevention, is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 15 June, in L’Aquila, during the White Night. On this occasion, the operators, with road unit campers, will set up experiential courses that involve the use of glasses simulating the state of alcoholic inebriation or drug intoxication; the intent is to intercept young people and make them aware of the risks they run under the influence of substances.
The second initiative will be held on June 22nd in Pescina, with a conference focused on gambling, as part of a project implemented by the Municipality and implemented in the last school year in the ‘Fontamara’ comprehensive school. The project included informative-educational meetings with teachers, families and students who set up creative workshops and created artistic works collected in an exhibition.
Finally, the June 26thin the L’Aquila area, in conjunction with the World Day for the Fight against Drugs, the Serd operators will be engaged on the theme of self-mutual help, in an event that will welcome various associations and groups from the area, within a Network perspective, for the synergistic treatment of individuals and families struggling with the discomfort of pathological addictions.
The three initiatives, with the full involvement of the population, are just some of the numerous stages of the awareness and prevention program implemented every year at 360 degrees by the Serd throughout the entire territory of the ASL. A constant and timely commitment to combating pathological addictions and promoting healthy lifestyles; actions that require a great effort on the part of all operators and the organizational apparatus.
