Geas welcomes Anna Makurat

First foreign announcement for the GEAS 24/25 edition and we get to speak Polish in Sesto San Giovanni: Anna Makurat, a versatile player who we have learned to appreciate in Italy at different latitudes, will wear the Rossoneri jersey. It’s easy to think of the reasons that led to this choice: first of all the flexibility that a player like Anna can bring, given her remarkable physicality to cover both the wing and guard positions. Secondly, let’s not forget the great familiarity with our championship, which you won a few months ago and in which the previous season you showed flashes of pure talent with the white and blue vest of Sassari.
An important and ambitious signing, for a player of the highest level who will certainly entertain the many Rossoneri fans who will fill the stadium.

Born in 2000, Polish, coming from a family that loves basketball (the mother coaches, the two sisters both play), she boasts experience in a top-level college, having attended U-Conn playing for coach Auriemma, a true basketball guru American. Her two years with the Huskies allowed her to put together considerable numbers before returning to her homeland, more precisely to Gdynia. You also achieved great results with the youth selections, with which Anna won the 2017 U20 European Championship.
She arrived in Italy under the orders of coach Restivo in Sassari, and immediately demonstrated that she was a total player, finishing the year with 11 points and 6 rebounds on average. The call to the lagoon from Reyer is one of those that cannot be missed, and in fact Anna settles among the orogranata and in the first championship she immediately hits the big target. Although coach Mazzon’s long rotations have drastically reduced her playing time, the Polish player has always shown that she can be reliable in the minutes spent on the pitch.
Season high: 22 points scored against Brescia on the third matchday.
Anna’s arrival aroused enormous satisfaction in coach Zanotti, who wanted to say sweet words towards the Polish athlete: “A “team” player, she can do everything in the round because after all she is a guard with an important physique. You need to regain confidence and continuity given the period of inactivity spent in Venice, but I think ours is the right environment.”
Anna instead made a point of greeting all the Rossoneri fans, making an appointment in September: “I’m thrilled and honored to join the GEAS family! I’m committed to giving my best effort and contributing to our team’s success in every way possible. I’m looking forward to fantastic games and creating unforgettable moments together. Thank you for having me. Let’s get started!”
