Nineteen young people, university students and young professionals between 20 and 32 years old from 9 European countries, are getting to know Friuli Venezia Giulia thanks to the original Curiosi del Territorio project, the international internship promoted and organized by the IRSE, the Regional Institute of European Studies .
15 girls and 4 boys from Austria, France, England, Italy, Holland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania and Spain have been based in Pordenone at the IRSE headquarters since Wednesday 12 June and are engaged daily in a program full of guided tours in the region: until June 26th they will discover cities and villages, culture and events, food and wine, always with an eye on slow tourism and sustainability. A unique experience, not only for tourism promotion, but also for its great intercultural value. The “curiosiFVG” also have the role of digital creators and storytellers and will tell their experience through their social media and blogs, promoting the beauties of Friuli Venezia Giulia in their countries of origin using the hashtag #curiosifvg2024.
But who are they and where do they come from? For those who want to get to know them, a meeting open to the public is scheduled on Saturday 15 June starting at 11.00, in the historic center of Pordenone at Palazzo Klefisch, guests of Confindustria Alto Adriatico. They will talk – in English, as all other activities and guided tours will take place in English – about their curricula of excellence, their training paths, their aspirations as European citizens. It will also be an opportunity for city administrators and representatives of local institutions to present Pordenone to international guests, in view of its candidacy as European Capital of Culture 2027.

A second meeting open to all will be on Sunday 16 June at 4.30 pm in the Council Room of Palmanova: in dialogue with Silvia Savi, councilor for culture, tourism and major events of the starred municipality, and the journalist and author Alessandra Beltrame, the “curious” will discuss the way where tourism can contribute to the European goals of sustainable development and social inclusion and how they are acting on them in practice.
