Yesterday morning a police officer, free from duty, with the help of the cars of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, proceeded with the arrest of a foreigner for attempted aggravated theft in collaboration with an unknown person, resistance to a public official and aggravated injuries aimed at resistance.
At 5 in the morning the policeman, off duty, suddenly heard noises from his home followed by loud explosions coming from the street. He then went down the street to check what was happening and surprised, not far away, two hooded men who, with one with a screwdriver and the other with a cast iron manhole, they were trying to force and break down the door of a pizzeria, located in that area.
Brawl with kicks and punches
The policeman, without hesitation, qualifying himself, ordered the two criminals to stop, but they attacked him, hitting him with kicks and punches. During the scuffle, one of the two criminals ran away, while the other lunged at the operator with the screwdriver, hitting him on the shoulder. Despite his injuries, the policeman managed to immobilize the subject and call the police squad for help. Subjected to a personal search, the screwdriver was also found. The man, with no small effort, was accompanied to the police station, awaiting the immediate trial expected for today’s morning. Following the attack, the injured policeman went to hospital for treatment.
