Activities and tools to combat the social marginalization and loneliness to which people with disabilities have had to surrender for too long in the daily management of their condition. The project will be called ‘PalermAbility’ and will be presented on Saturday at the Giardino dei Petrazzi in via Pietro Scaglione in Palermo, financed by the Ministry for Disability, thanks to which the city administration has qualified as the successful tenderer, placing itself among the top three of the ten projects presented at national level on the sidelines of the Inclusive Suburbs Fund.
The “PalermAbility” project
The “PalermAbility” project, carried out in co-planning with previously selected third sector bodies, aims to bridge the social distance to which people with disabilities are too often forced, living in a situation of social marginalization in their own territory. There will be over 200 people involved, with their families, in the recreational and educational activities which will have no age limits. From sport, with swimming courses, athletics and other disciplines, to activities related to the care of greenery and the redevelopment of common spaces, such as gardening courses, activities in the vegetable garden and with animals.
Pennino, “Remarkable result for Palermo”

The presentation of the project, scheduled for Saturday 15 June 2024 at 10am at the Giardino dei Petrazzi in via Pietro Scaglione in Palermo, will see the details exposed in the presence of the mayor of the capital Roberto Lagalla.
