The weekend in Calabria returns to light up our region, from the Pollino to the Strait, with a series of events capable of involving a large audience with different tastes and needs. Here are some of the most interesting initiatives planned starting in the next few hours.
Pollino Bike Festival
An intense program of activities designed to enhance the territory and with a single common thread: the bicycle. The Pollino Bike Festival aims to involve hikers, mountain lovers, explorers and two-wheel enthusiasts from 14 to 16 June. The events will kick off on Friday 14 June with a double ride, scheduled for 8.30 am and 3.00 pm, from the Catasta del Pollino structure in Campotenese (CS) to the Masistro Park on ebike. Trekking activities are also among the planned initiatives. To close everything will be the “Marathon of the Aragonese” included in the official calendar of the natural parks trophy.
Venus at Rende
Friday 14 June, as part of the Be Alternative Festival, from 6.30 pm onwards concert by Venus with open act curated by Malvax and the aftershow by DJ Kerò. The event will be held at the Commenda di Rende river park.
“Confused, unemployed, looking for…” in Cosenza
The theatrical show will be held on Friday 14 June at 7.30 pm in the auditorium of the Spirito Santo school institute in Cosenza “Confused, unemployed, looking for…” by and with Mirko Iaquinta and with live music by Francesco Pingitore. The event, in collaboration with Auser, will support a fundraiser in favor of the “Senza confini” medical clinic in Cosenza.
Real Human Bodies in Rende
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June appointment at the Hotel Europa in Rende with “Real Human Bodies – An Exhibition of Real Human Bodies”. The initiative, scheduled to begin at 11am, features an extensive scientific collection with anatomical display pieces, including skeletons, limbs, organs, organ blocks, functional simulators, tactile models and shape castings. The objective of the exhibition is also to transmit knowledge and share information material.
Dana Andreea Nigrim in Tropea
In the context of “Harmonies of Magna Graecia”Saturday 15 June at Palazzo Santa Chiara in Tropea, the pianist Dana Andreea Nigrim will perform in an exclusive concert. Start scheduled for 9.30pm.
Cosenz’Art – Festival of Awareness and Traditions
All ready for “Cosenz’Art – Festival of Awareness and Traditions”. The initiative aimed at promoting the area will begin on Saturday 15 June in Piazza Carratelli. A series of cultural activities are planned but also food and wine moments linked to the Calabrian tradition and typical Cosenza dishes.

Traditional music is ready to burst in on Saturday 15 June at 9.30 pm in Petilia Policastro in Piazzetta Camellino with the concert of Cece Barretta.
Cherry Festival at San Pietro Apostolo
It reaches its 14th edition Cherry Festival of Saint Peter the Apostle. Starting from 11 am on Sunday 16 June in Piazza Marconi it will be possible to taste typical dishes but also ice cream and cherry-based products. To enrich everything, during the event promoted by the Pro-loco, there will be shows for children, musical entertainment and much more.
Street Food Fest in Catanzaro
