The extraordinary control services of the territory by the State Police continue with the aim of combating and preventing crime, with particular attention to predatory crimes, drug dealing and illegal immigration.

Yesterday evening, until late at night, a unit made up of patrols from the Flying Squad with reinforcement from the Crime Prevention Department of the State Police carried out extensive patrols, including on foot, in the Gramsci and Tempio areas, extending the checks to the XXII Aprile parks and the Ducal Gardens.

Overall, 99 people were identified, including 33 foreign citizens, and 43 vehicles were checked. Checks, extended to customers, at two public establishments in the area.

In recent days, the Flying Squad arrested a 55-year-old Italian citizen who was the recipient of an execution order for imprisonment, issued by the Court of Modena on 6 June 2024.

The man must serve a final sentence of years, 3 months and 6 years of imprisonment for the crime of aggravated extortion committed in Modena in 2017. At the end of the formalities, the 55-year-old was sent to prison.

Flying Squad personnel also arrested a 32-year-old Italian in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Bologna as an aggravation of a previous measure of house arrest. Last June 7, the suspect left his home. Tracked down by the Flying Squad, he was arrested for the crime of escape.
