The ninth edition of Never Give Up – Memorial Nicola Ussia scheduled for tomorrow at the La Stalla social center in Imola is getting closer and closer. The target? Continue to raise funds to fuel the commitment linked to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases with the purchase of two more defibrillators. Yes, because there are seven life-saving devices donated over the years to local sports associations and schools. Thanks to the beautiful project conceived in 2015 by the city councilor Antonio Ussia (in Imola Corre, ed.), to pay homage to the memory of his father Nicola, supported by the active Bof Association. A path that for some time has also been traveling in close synergy with the reality ‘I Ragazzi di Via Angiolina’ of Massa Lombarda which brings together the many volunteers involved in Sant’Agata sul Santerno during the terrible flood a year ago.

Protagonist sport with 7-a-side football and beach volleyball tournaments. For leather ball lovers, there is a non-stop program reserved for five registered teams: a single Italian-style round of challenges in the morning and final stages in the afternoon. Same thing for the sand volleyball tournament, a summer must par excellence. Then the green light goes to the awards ceremony with numerous prizes offered by the many partners involved. In short, all the ingredients are in the right place and between registration for summer tournaments, various donations and charity auctions of sports memorabilia, Never Give Up is preparing to bring two more defibrillators to the area: “One to be placed in Castel Guelfo, in the heart of our district, and the other in Campi Bisenzio in the Florentine area – anticipates Antonio Ussia, the driving force behind the initiative -. A town hit, like our Romagna, by recent flood events”. Not only. “I’m happy because more than 80 young people will meet at Never Give Up to have fun and do good – he continues -. From next year we will set up a real recognized association to continue our solidarity project. Prevention of cardiovascular diseases, an ever-current topic also in the area, sports tournaments and charity auctions to raise everyone’s awareness of the importance of targeted and timely aid capable of saving lives”.
