In December 2023, 22 Albanians who were relatives of each other and two Italians ended up in handcuffs. The trial for criminal association aimed at trafficking and dealing drugs ended with 13 convictions, a total of 76 years and one acquittal. . The operation called “Turn over” (due to the frequent turnover of pushers) which led to the arrests had been coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Milan (prosecutor Stefano Amendola) and by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Busto Arsizio (prosecutor Ciro Caramore), conducted by the Carabinieri of the Busto Arsizio Company. The criminal association operated in the lower Varese area and in the Milanese hinterland and, according to what emerged from the Carabinieri’s activity, was able to move and retail significant quantities of narcotic substances. During the investigations, a total of 20 kg of cocaine, 10 kg of heroin, 81 kg of hashish (for a total retail value of 3 million euros) and cash amounts of 453,000 euros were seized. 13 of them received sentences, a total of 76 years. The other day another Albanian clan was dismantled in Varese, ten arrested by the police for drug trafficking.
