It was a cursed chain of events that on May 21st, at around 5.45pm, led a young 23-year-old from Rimini to risk his life following a tragic accident involving him. According to the reconstructions of the local police of Rimini who intervened at the scene of the accident in via Lea Giaccaglia 5, in front of the Motorization Office, and what was learned from the boy, the 23-year-old had just left work (he is an employee for a company in via Maria Goya) when less than 200 meters away from the company he works for, the boy – driving a Piaggio scooter – suddenly found himself in front of a car that had completely invaded his lane while taking a curve. . It would have been at this point that the 23-year-old, to avoid a head-on crash, would have swerved sharply, violently hitting another car with his scooter which at that moment was parked prohibited on the side of the road in Via Giaccaglia. The extremely violent impact knocked the young man off his horse and he hit the ground and lost consciousness.
However, the driver of the car who caused the crash by invading the lane immediately after seeing the young man fall, instead of providing assistance, fled, leaving the dying 23-year-old behind. On that occasion the boy was in fact airlifted to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena, where he was no longer in danger of his life, but was subjected to numerous surgical operations following the traumas he sustained. Following the accident, the family’s lawyers – Marco and Monica Lunedei – filed a complaint for very serious injuries with the prosecutor’s office, thus launching an investigation to find the hit-and-run driver. On the day of the accident, however, the owner of the car parked in a double row into which the 23-year-old then collided had already been identified. The Monday lawyers and the Prosecutor’s Office are now working to find images of the event and/or eyewitnesses of the terrible accident.
