The governor is taking his time for now: “First I have to be proclaimed president, then we will have the new council.” It will take at least twenty days. The knot of women

«I am for 4-4-2», jokes Alberto Cirio, responding to those who ask him what the scheme will be according to which the weights of the parties will be distributed in his new government team. The president reconfirmed he jokes, makes jokes, greets everyone with big hugs and handshakes in his first public outing, yesterday morning at Palazzo Piemonte, together with the mayor Stefano Lo Russo: «It’s a difficult group, but I like the players called up, I’m convinced that we’ll have a good European Championship». Beyond the football metaphors, the governor is waiting for the center-right allies to present their requests to him: “We are talking to each other, we are lucky enough to be friends, so we don’t have to make appointments.”

In reality, the most likely scheme could be 5-2-2-2, depending on the number of places in the council that would be available in the order to Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, Lega and Cirio list; to which we must then add the presidency of the Regional Council and the two undersecretariats, useful as compensation for any last-minute exclusions. For his part, Cirio is taking his time: «First I must be proclaimed president, then we will have the new council». It will take at least twenty days. In short, there is plenty of time to carry on the negotiations and also, if necessary, let all the would-be councilors boil in their own broth.

Who will do it the lion’s share, it goes without saying, is Fratelli d’Italia, strong with 24.4% of the votes. “Democracy in Italy is representative and therefore represents what the voters decide and therefore the council will be balanced with respect to the electoral result”, notes the president, reassuring his allies that the distribution of seats will take into account their electoral results. The Melonians claim the most important squaresstarting with Healthcare. In pole position for the first regional department is Elena Chiorino from Biella, while in the event that an area technician were to be opted for, manager Valter Galante could be called from outside. Among the “brothers” the names of stand out Maurizio Marrone, for whom we are talking about the delegation to Culture (“It’s premature”, warns Cirio in this regard), of the Casalese preferences manager Federico Riboldi, of the Cuneo Paolo Bongiovanni, of the Vercelli Carlo Riva Vercellotti and of the deputy mayor of Novara Marina Chiarelli. Since we cannot completely ignore the women’s issue (women are in short supply, in fact), one of Riva Vercellotti, Bongiovanni or Riboldi could be compensated for a failure to be appointed to the presidency of Palazzo Lascaris.

In light of the electoral collapse which leaves many leavers on the street, in the League the game of puzzles is even more difficult. Hard to argue Enrico Bussalino, president of the province of Alessandria, territory of the secretary Riccardo Molinari where the party held the most. The outgoing vice-president Fabio Carosso could be taken from the list (seeing as Asti also resisted) or, in the event that a woman is needed, Gianna Gancia, so as to bring the former Ossola group leader Alberto Preioni back to the council. In this scheme the outgoing Turin councilor would be left out Fabrizio Riccawho yesterday posted a photo of himself together with Cirio with a cryptic caption that seems to want to flatter the governor: “Yesterday, today and tomorrow always by your side.”

Even in Forza Italia there are more aspirants than seats. The outgoing Turin player Andrea Tronzano should be reappointed. As well as Cirio’s most trusted, Marco Gabusi. But outside of those designated there is also Claudia Porchietto, an unelected candidate in the European elections, who is said to be in the running for the Labor department. It cannot therefore be ruled out that the governor could name his nomination not to the party, but to his civic list, where the mayor of Busca has the greatest claims, thanks to his 8,347 preference votes. Marco Gallo. For his part, in front of the line of suitors Cirio doesn’t say anything: “I haven’t been proclaimed yet, at the moment – he shields himself – you are still talking to the old president of the Region”.
