Arezzo, 13 June 2024 – The appointment with Camminmangiando returns to Lucignano, the food and wine walk thanks to which every year, in mid-June, numerous participants are offered an unmissable opportunity to get to know and appreciate the widespread beauty of the Lucignano area and the indisputable excellence of the local gastronomy. The event is organized by the local Pro Loco Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Lucignano and the precious collaboration of Strada del Vino Terre di Arezzo. On Sunday 16 June, from the early morning, the participants will set off in groups from the Public Gardens, accompanied by expert guides who will lead them on a journey full of emotions and surprises.
An experience with four unmissable stops. The first stop in Poggiospinoso, a secluded location set in a context that does justice to an area that over time has become the inevitable landing place for wealthy people and crowned heads. Here it will be possible to enjoy a breakfast based on croutons and strictly local cured meats. The stop for lunch is scheduled in Belvedere, where pasta with grandmother’s sauce will be served. The third stage, with a stop at the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Querce, will see one of the excellences of Lucignano gastronomy as the absolute protagonist: Chianina meat, with grilled meats and other delicacies await the daring walkers, who will also be able to get to know the splendid sacred building, so dear to the memory of the inhabitants of Lucignano. The journey will end in the afternoon at the recently restored Medici Fortress, from which you can enjoy a special view of Lucignano and the wonders of the Arezzo and Siena landscape, with unlimited cantucci and vinsanto amidst songs and dances, as per the tried and tested script. Each dish is paired with wines from some of the wineries participating in the “Strada del vino terre di Arezzo”.
“Camminmangiando – explains the mayor Roberta Casini – is one of the main initiatives organized by our very active Pro Loco during the year. An event that grows from year to year, both in terms of the quality of the offer and the number of participants, confirming the ever-increasing affirmation of the food and wine tourism movement on which Lucignano has been betting for some time”.
Mario Turchetti, president of the Pro Loco Lucignano, recalls that “the registration fee is unchanged compared to previous editions: 25 euros per person, 10 euros for children aged 6 to 10 years, 23 euros for groups of over 15 participants. The price includes the dishes and wines served at the stages of the walk. The event will be held even in case of rain. Obviously, suitable clothing and footwear are recommended. For those who wish, there is the possibility of purchasing the glass and glass holder for the event. A magnificent gadget as a reminder of a wonderful day, spent in a fascinating context among the flavors and aromas of truly excellent gastronomy”.
