This afternoon, a video shot between 16 and 17 July 2019, the night of the alleged sexual assault in the Pevero villa used by the Grillo family on the Costa Smeralda, was shown again in court in Tempio Pausania. This was asked this morning by the lawyers of Ciro Grillo (son of the founder of the M5S, Beppe), Edoardo Capitta, Francesco Corsiglia and Vittorio Lauria, accused by an Italian-Norwegian student, ‘Silvià (fictitious name), of group sexual violence during a summer holiday in Sardinia. The young woman, who reported them and who was 19 years old at the time, had left the classroom on January 31st when the images, found on the mobile phone of one of the boys, were presented to the college chaired by Marco Contu, on the occasion of the its deposition river. ‘Silvià had never wanted to see that video shot by the defendants that night which turned her life upside down and that of her friend ‘Robertà (another fictitious name), who was with her and who is the offended party because while she was sleeping three of the defendants ( Corsiglia is unfamiliar with this fact) took obscene photos of her exposing her genitals. None of the four Genoese friends were present in court this morning, even though their examination in court is scheduled for tomorrow. The respective defenders have not yet made it known whether the four boys will present themselves, whether they will testify (almost certainly, according to what AGI has learned, Lauria will not undergo an examination) or whether they will choose to make spontaneous statements. All hearings, from the beginning of the trial, have been behind closed doors.
In this morning’s hearing, the psychiatrist of the civil party, Marina Loi, was heard, and the testimony of a forensic doctor, Lorenzo Marinelli, also of the civil party, is expected, called to clarify the condition of the girl, who reported the violence days later, upon his return home to Milan. According to the psychiatrist, ‘Silvià was passive, she did not participate in the sexual relationship. The girl, who together with ‘Robertà and two other friends (already heard as witnesses at the trial) had met the 4 Genoese men at the ‘Billionaire’ in Porto Cervo, had declared that she had drunk a lot of alcohol that evening. The defenders of the defendants believe that this is not the case and consider, on the contrary, the video as evidence in favor of their thesis of the consensual nature of the relationship; that’s why they asked for it to be brought back to court today. Furthermore, in today’s hearing, the task should be assigned to the expert who will have to translate from English into Italian a large amount of IT material – in particular chat – already in the documents. The parties have indicated which chats and other conversations and messages they consider relevant and, therefore, need to be translated. Just the transcription of the chats between Silvia (not her real name), the main accuser of the four boys, and a Norwegian friend of hers takes up 142 pages. Then there are the conversations between the young Italian-Norwegian student with other friends and also with her ex-boyfriend.
