These are his main statements, divided by topic:
Ranieri’s farewell: “We had the objective of returning to Serie A and maintaining it: we achieved them. Now we will need consolidation, even without Ranieri, our champion. There is still something to do, but the club can work with fairly free hands. The effects of Covid are still visible, although the fans may think differently. We must look forward, there are important foundations to work on, and we will do it with balance. The growth path will have to be gradual, managing the young people and the more experienced guys become a club that will be able to have its say. We have identified a right person who we will soon be able to make official. We have not stopped. We have renewed the contract of Pavoletti, a great man who has given us a great hand, but also of Kingstone, a young man worth”.
The failed redemptions of Petagna, Shomurodov and Oristanio: “We did not exercise the right of redemption on Petagna, Shomurodov and Oristanio. We spoke with Inter about the possibility of having him back. For Mina we exercised the option of contract renewal.”
Contract renewals: “We are reflecting on Viola, Mancosu and Aresti. The latter two have completed a certain path, we will see.”
The objectives Marin and Luperto: “It’s still early, we’ll see.”
No to Miranchuk and Barak: “Our philosophy is that of gradual growth. On the market we are attentive to opportunities. For this player I say no. Barak? It’s a similar discussion. He’s a profile with a budget beyond Cagliari’s reach.”
