The documentary film “Father William: charisma and mystery” is about to arrive at the cinema and, judging by the number of reservations already made, the anticipation is really high.

Starting from June 14, spectators will be able to immerse themselves in the story of Father Guglielmo Gattiani, a Capuchin who lived in Cesena and Faenza, recently proclaimed venerable servant of God by Pope Francis.

Directed by Roberto Vecchidirector and author with vast experience in television programming for Rai, the film explores the essence of Father Guglielmo’s life, investigating his unshakable faith, sincere mercy for the faithful, his veneration for his brother priests and his extraordinary ability to touch the hearts of countless people.

Simone Ortolani, journalist and television author, creator of the project and expert in historical issues, edited the biographical contents of the film. Together, Vecchi and Ortolani had already collaborated on documentary “Ersilio”dedicated to Cardinal Tonini and broadcast on TV2000.

The role of Father Guglielmo is played by Daniele Dainelli, professional actor and theater teacher. His performancethey assure from the production, gives life to the religious person, capturing their warmth, humility and spirit of profound prayer.

Davide Caprelli, composer from Cesena and author of television theme tunes such as that of the Rai program “Geo” and the music for the film “Est – Dittatura last minute” created the soundtrack of the film, perfectly integrating notes and melodies with the narration of the film.

There film crew includes a group of talents from Romagna, including Ludovica Amati, Luigi Schiavoni, Marco La Ferrara, Davide Piras, Anja Schuck and Vanessa Marchetti.

Filming took place in various locations in Emilia-Romagna and beyond, including Cesena, Sorrivoli, Faenza, Castel San Pietro, Lagrimone, Querceto, Badi, Ravenna and Treviso. The crew gathered precious testimonies of priests, brothers, cloistered nuns, devotees and friends who were touched by the charismatic Capuchin friar who died in Faenza on 15 December 1999.

The making of the film was supported by Province of Emilia-Romagna of the Capuchin Friars Minor and from The Bcc – Ravennate Forlivese and Imolese cooperative credit bankwith the support of Fruttadoro Orogel Foundationof Camping Le Sorgenti, of the Pro Loco of Badi and of a group of private supporters, and is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Bologna and by Diocese of Cesena-SarsinaFaenza-Modigliana and Parma.

“We are enthusiastic about the great interest that the film is arousing among the public”, declares director Roberto Vecchi. “The numerous bookings for June 14th and for the following days demonstrate that the popularity and esteem with which Father Guglielmo is rightly surrounded in the Romagna area. I particularly thank the crew, whose expertise was fundamental in bringing the story of Father Guglielmo on the big screen”, adds the author Simone Ortolani.

The film will premiere at Victor cinema theater in Cesenain via San Vittore 1680, tomorrow, Friday 14 Juneat 9pm, with the presence of the authors Roberto Vecchi and Simone Ortolani, of the provincial minister of the Capuchin Friars Minor, Brother Giacomo Franchini, of the bishop Douglas Regattieri, and the president of the BCC Giuseppe Gambi. It’s already sold out. Further screenings will take place Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th, Wednesday 19th June and Thursday 20 June to 9pm (reservation recommended on 375 6700022).
