Fano, restored cinema masterpieces in July

Fano (Pu).- The great restored cinema lands in Fano, from 31 July to 3 August, with the fifth edition of CineFortunae – Masterpieces Restored by the Sea, the film festival promoted by the La Locura Association. The event, with the contribution of the Municipality of Fano – Department of Culture and the Marche Region, is in collaboration with Cineteca Bologna.

The success of the previous editions, with the homage to Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vittorio Gassman and Ugo Tognazzi in 2022 and to Massimo Troisi and Alberto Sordi in 2023, stimulates CineFortunae to want to leave its mark once again.

He will do it by celebrating Marcello Mastroianni And Marlon Brandoone hundred years after their birth, two amazing actors, among the greatest in the history of cinema, who gave life to an extraordinary collection of mythical characters, confirming themselves as iconic stars of the big screen.

“We liked the idea of ​​putting together two figures who were so iconic but also so different both in their approach to acting and in their lifestyle – he declares Luca Caprara, from the CineFortuane team – They have entered the collective imagination and made us dream for decades, thanks to their unquestionable talent. Two particular beauties, unconventional par excellence, with a unique and inimitable bearing and style, capable of going beyond the confines of cinema to become true points of reference for the culture and society of the twentieth century.”

This year too, the beating heart of CineFortunae will take spectators on an exciting cinematic journey to the symbolic place of the city, Piazza XX Settembre, which from 31 July to 3 August, starting at 9.15 pm, will be transformed into a large cinema arena – with a 50 m2 screen and 800 seats – to see or re-watch some great masterpieces of Italian cinema. The screenings are free of charge.

CineFortunae is one of the few festivals in Italy dedicated to great restored cinema and the rediscovered treasures of the cinematographic heritage. Many guests are expected in Fano together with big names of Italian cinema. Between these Marco Tullio GiordanaItalian director, screenwriter and writer, who will receive the CineFortunae Award 2024 and who will present his masterpiece: The one hundred Steps. From Thursday 11 July until Sunday 4 August, CineFortunae will be open-air screenings.
