“Centre-left, a furious battle”

The Progressives reject to the sender, i.e. the Democratic Party, “the summary judgments” expressed against them “with which Cristian Fanesi – comments Stefano Marchegiani – tried to attribute responsibility for his defeat to us”. Marchegiani, however, relaunches the idea of working on a new project with the Democratic Party whose success he recognizes at a European level, certainly not on a local level. “They lost – he points out – Fano, Pergola, San Costanzo, Acqualagna and they didn’t present the list to Cartoceto. I don’t think such failures can be attributed to us”. It seems that diplomacy is at work and that “signs of openness are coming from the Democratic Party”, but Francesco Panaroni, M5S, clarifies: “With this Democratic Party, any agreement is impossible, if they want to collaborate they must take a bath in humility”.

Then Panaroni, the only member elected from the M5S (in the previous legislature there were 3), lined up the responsibilities of the centre-left: “The choice of Fanesi is an expression of all the choices we fought against, Samuele Mascarin for having staked everything on the primaries, the secretary Minardi who only thought about returning to the Region and the outgoing mayor Seri who concentrated only on the candidacy in Europe”. He emphasized the failure of Noi Civiche, the reference lists of Seri, the socialist Tiziano Busca: “We will soon see the birth of a reformist civic association that will become an offshoot of the centre-right, a fundamental step for the regional council” . While Luciano Benini (photo) of Bene Comune spoke of a “furious internal battle within the centre-left” and Teodosio Auspici of Ribella recalled how Fanesi had already announced defeat at 5.30pm on Monday and that, despite having lost by 170 votes, he did not wanted to verify the almost thousand invalid ballots”.
