(ANSA) – PALERMO, JUNE 18 – A program, that of the Sicilia Jazz Festival 2024, rich and varied with continuous concert activities to experience, always discovering new places. Concerts in the center of Palermo, but also in Catania, Messina and other Sicilian cities such as Calyanissetta, Castelbuono (Palermo), Ribera (Agrigento). The fourth edition of the Sicilia Jazz Festival wants to give priority to the discovery of places to enhance them all in their historical and cultural fullness because music, say the organizers, is a universal language, understood by everyone without limits of age and gender, without limits of belonging and race. The program includes the great names of the international artistic world who will all perform with the Sicilian Jazz Orchestra such as Arturo Sandoval, who inaugurates the Festival next Sunday at the Teatro di Verdura in Palermo, and Ron Carter on 25 June, Philip Lassiter on 27 June, Arisa on the 29th, Noemi on the 1st July, Cori Henry on the 3rd July, Veronica Swift on the 5th July, Take 6, with ten Grammy Awards will close the event 24 on the 7th July.
Thus the Sicilia Jazz Festival establishes itself as one of the most important festivals in the world and, furthermore, jazz music is the instrument, embraced for 50 years by the Brass Group, for the development and growth of intercultural dialogue aimed at a territorial rebirth. The jazz departments of the “Alessandro Scarlatti” conservatories of Palermo, “Arcangelo Corelli” of Messina, “Antonio Scontrino” of Trapani, “Arturo Toscanini” of Ribera (Agrigento) and the high school of “Vincenzo Bellini” music studies in Catania. In addition to the musical moments, book presentations and video performances are planned which will have as their theme the importance of jazz music as a tool of artistic and territorial expression.
