For the Samarate ballot everyone is looking for new alliances

For the Samarate ballot everyone is looking for new alliances

In Samarate we are preparing for the runoff: after the outcome of the first round, it will be a challenge between Alessandro Ferrazzi and Enrico Puricelli, center-left and center-right. And negotiations have already begun to understand whether there will be alliances with the mayoral candidates and excluded lists

How does the ballot work?

The people of Samara will find the names of the two candidates on the ballot.
After the first round, however, the lists of candidates excluded can sign “separations”i.e. agreements with one or the other of the two candidates playing in the second round.

These agreements must be formalized “within seven days of the first vote”.
If a list makes an agreement with the winning candidate, he has a better chance of accessing the city council and making his position known on the various issues that are close to his heart.

Meetings, phone calls and first negotiations in Samarate for the runoff

In Samarate the maneuvers have already begun. The lists already largely gathered on Monday evening or Tuesday to take stock.

First and most “courted” is the list Samarate at the Luca Macchi Center: Macchi comes from the centre-right but has been very critical in recent years, already five years ago he animated an alternative list to Puricelli’s centre-right.

Count for the future of Samarate

Now: according to the seat distribution calculations that have been made, Samarate in the Center would today elect only one councillor, Macchi himself. But if he signed a partnership agreement, in the event of victory he would obtain three councilors, allowing the entry of Luca Macchi, Alessandra Cariglino (the most voted in Samarate) and Davide Macchi. And it could make his weight count, which is no small thing.

Obviously both Ferrazzi and Puricelli immediately looked for Macchi and are checking what conditions there are.

The clearer is (at least up to this point). alternative position to Puricelli of the other two lists: the 5 Star Movement due to obvious ideological incompatibility, in the case of Samarate Together instead for the themes already put on the table by Alessandro Cenci.

Far from women’s quotas: in Samarate the preferences reward women

From Ferrazzi’s centre-left

For the centre-left, in the end, all three alternative lists are important: an operation that requires a considerable effort from the point of view of mediation on the program (to be done in a few days) for a “grand coalition” that aims to break the cycle of the centre-right centered on the League.

Precisely “the grand coalition” would be the horizon hypothesized by Macchi, asking everyone to put aside past rivalries and crossed vetoes. Which exist, the legacy of an electoral campaign but not without disagreements (for example between Samarate Insieme and Città Viva or between a piece of Pd and Macchi).

From Puricelli’s centre-right

On the other hand, the center-right already has all its cards in hand: with one coalition between Forza Italia, Lega Salvini Premier and Fratelli d’Italia has brought home the entire electorate which was convinced of the centre-rightin addition to that convinced by the work done by Puricelli in recent years.

The sum resulting from the elections is 42%: the centre-right in absolute terms has an advantage over the 30% of the centre-left, but risks big if the entire alternative front to Puricelli joins forces.

The most obvious of the counter-moves is to woo Macchi and Samarate to the Center. This is why we moved immediately, with direct contacts between the two mayoral candidates, Macchi and Puricelli. But there have also been contacts with Samarate Insieme.

On the other hand Puricelli must worry about keeping his coalition compact and avoid the risk of friction between the lists (a few critical words from some towards the other were heard on Monday) and avoid anyone “throwing up the oars” in these two weeks.
