The last bell will ring on Friday for over 90,000 students from South Tyrol. In Italian schools, last day of lessons for over 22,300 children and young people: 3,300 boys and girls in nursery schools, 6,140 in primary schools, around 4,200 boys and girls in lower secondary schools, 6,792 in upper secondary schools and over 1,900 male and female students of vocational schools, including 380 apprentices and 1,536 full-time students.
Approximately 1,379 middle school students will take their final exams, while 1,335 students have attended a fifth year of high school. For many of them, the high school diploma will begin, as per the ministerial calendar, on Wednesday 19 June, with the first written Italian test.
In German schools the holidays will begin for 64,847 children and teenagers. There are 11,338 children who attended a nursery school, 20,648 a primary school, 12,321 a lower secondary school, 12,526 students a upper secondary school and 8014 students a vocational school. For 4001 the year will continue with the end-of-cycle exams: 2756 of them are candidates who will complete the Abitur, 2352 of whom come from secondary schools, while 404 are students from German-language professional schools. The 2023/2024 school year will also end in the German and Ladin music schools, attended this year by 16,126 students.
Friday 14 June also saw the last bell for 2963 pupils and boys from Ladin schools: 596 girls and boys from nursery schools, 1177 from primary schools, 660 from secondary schools, 493 high school students and 31 vocational school students. The school year has not yet ended for the last classes of middle and high schools. This year, 230 students will have to take the State Exam: 108 of them are candidates preparing to take the Matura, 107 of which are secondary school students, while 1 student attended the last year of professional school.
