BRUNICO. The woodworkers of Ivh.apa, with the teachers of the Professional Training Center of Brunico, met to discuss the topic of “training”. The invitation started from the Wooden Builders and Carpenters section of lvh.apa at the Pacherhof winery in Novacella.

Richard Naglerpresident of the trade section, underlined that the exchange represented an important platform to make the training program more attractive: “The professional profile of wood builders and carpenters is still in great demand, but in recent years it has undergone considerable changes. In particular, the raw material, wood, is becoming increasingly important, and this is why it is the task of the trade council and schools to carry forward innovations”.

“This meeting is a first step towards defining the training path as carpenters. The objective is to prepare apprentices for the profession in the best possible way and meet the new needs of the job market”, added Nagler

Collaboration seems to be the collective focusor, there was consensus on the essentiality of training apprentices together: in the future, companies and schools “should collaborate in a targeted manner” – although a uniform and concrete model is still missing.

During the meeting, a new regulation was also considered, to be developed with the teachers. Furthermore, a competition for apprentices was launched at the Center of Brunico – driven by the section linked to the theme of the Ivh.apa. The competition will take place in spring, while, after the summer break, a further constructive meeting is planned to define the training program and the competition.
