MESSINA – From 27 June the most famous Italian and foreign champions will be present on the banks of the Strait, but from 20 June the Beach Soccer Village will open with street food, sporting, social and environmental protection activities. On June 26th, at 6 pm in Capo Peloro, the opening ceremony of the Italian Serie A Beach Soccer Cup will take place in the presence of the mayor of Messina Federico Basile, the municipal councilor for Sport and Major Events Massimo Finocchiaro, the coordinator of the FIGC Beach Soccer Department of the National Amateur League Roberto Desini, of the president of the FIGC Sicily Regional Committee – Sicily National Amateur League Sandro Morgana, of the member of the National Council of the Bs Lnd Department for the Sicily Region Giuseppe Bosco, of the member of the Beach Soccer Department Fabio Nicosia, of the sports expert of the Municipality of Messina Francesco Giorgio.

The event is organized by the National Amateur League and Beach Soccer Department co-organized and sponsored by the Municipality of Messina with the patronage of the Tourism Department of the Sicilian Region and by the Ars. “On display” for an entire weekend not only sport, played in the Arena Beach Stadium with its 1200 seats, but also many evocative images of Capo Peloro, which will allow all spectators to watch the Beach Soccer matches in a scenario of evocative beauty, where it will be possible to admire the natural reserve of the Capo Peloro Lagoon, also known as the Lighthouse Tower or simply the Strait of Messina. The protected natural area of ​​the Sicilian Region established in 2001 is one of the most enchanting places in Sicily, managed by the Metropolitan City of Messina, with the aim of safeguarding, according to the guidelines of the legislation on protected areas, a singular aquatic environment where species live aquatics, molluscs and crustaceans, as well as being a resting place for avifauna along the migratory route of the Strait of Messina. It will thus be possible to enjoy a sporting event in a setting, the beach of Capo Peloro, as a habitat rich in biodiversity for its flora and fauna which hosts communities of unique biocenoses and extensive formations of biotopes protected at community level, unique in all the Mediterranean Sea.

All this will be amplified by the wide national coverage ensured for the event (with two rounds of the Round of 16, all the Quarterfinals and the Semifinals) broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the National Amateur League. DAZN which will closely follow the Coppa Italia Puntocuore with a new section in app dedicated to Beach Soccer where you can review the summaries of the match days, the best plays, the highlightsi best goal and much more. The live experience will be guaranteed by the live coverage of the Italian Cup final. All the Serie A teams will participate in the Italian Puntocuore Beach Soccer Cup in Messina which will take place from 27 to 30 June in Capo Peloro – Torre Faro in the Arena Beach Stadium.

The presences and the village

Approximately 3000 athletes and professionals will be present per day, to which will be added a significant spin-off, who will be able to enjoy a high-profile national and international sports tourism event in one of the locations, already defined by the authoritative National Geographic as the best of Italy for panoramas, which will combine the environment, sea and sport, giving life to an activity of promotion and valorisation of the territory thanks to the arrivals and presences from all over the world who will thus have the opportunity to discover and contribute to making known one unique setting for incomparable beauty and environmental value.

Starting from June 20th, the Beach Soccer Village will be ready, the large area of ​​3,347 m2 which will enliven the sports event with numerous collateral initiatives until the 30th. The following are planned: the Street Food & Beverage Area “heart of the village” promoted by Etnazar which includes a selection of qualified food and wine operators in the sector who will propose a “journey into taste” through the most loved typical products of the “street food” tradition; the tensile structure of the “Beach soccer Lab” from 6pm to 8pm, with activities for children, teenagers and families, with science workshops, journalism workshops, sports, art and healthy lifestyles. Among the topics covered are the introduction of the little ones to the environment, the sea, art, healthy eating, sport, the donation of blood and organs, the valorisation of typical local products, the gender gap. From 8pm to 9pm, the protagonists of the “Beach Soccer Lab” will be guests of the lounge of Radio Zenith, the official radio station of the event.

From 26 to 30 June, from 7pm to 8pm, 5 show cooking will be held, with the Provincial Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of Messina who will create their specialties to the rhythm of music and conducted by Teresa Impollonia and Sabrina Assenzio, the latter creator of the “Beach Soccer Lab” and “Show cooking” projects, president of Terziario Donna Confcommercio Messina in collaboration with the LEM Group. The other areas planned concern teenagers with table football, table tennis, video games and electronic games; the stage area whose artistic direction is by Teresa Impollonia includes shows from 9pm to 12pm with: live bands, DJ sets, artists, testimonials, comedy shows, dance shows, singing festivals, the “a girl for cinema” beauty contest ” and show cooking; the sports area for 4 vs 4 football, mini basketball, volleyball and free play and finally exhibition areas and info points. Italy’s matches in the European football championships in Germany will be projected on the big screen.
