Work to upgrade public lighting is progressing throughout the municipal area. Through an investment of over 300 thousand euros, the Administration has launched a series of urgent extraordinary maintenance interventions, aimed at repairing structural faults, extending public lighting lines and making four pedestrian crossings safe.

Among the works that have started, we highlight in particular: the strengthening of the lighting in Via Parigi and Via Belgrado, in Via Monte Marmagna and in the Polidoro Gallery; the redevelopment of the lighting system at the main entrance of the Cittadella park; the safety of four pedestrian crossings with the SicurLed system; the repair of structural damage in the former Pezziol neighborhood and in Località Gaione; and the installation of a floodlight to improve lighting in the Portici del Grano.

The new light points will be LED, in order to guarantee more efficient and sustainable lighting, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The intervention is an integral part of the strategy of the Municipality of Parma to make the city increasingly liveable and people-friendly, even at night.

Francesco De Vanna, Councilor for Public Works and Legality comment: “This investment represents a piece of the broader maintenance work of the public lighting network for which we have allocated, this year alone, over half a million euros: in the coming weeks, in fact, we will continue with other interventions which will also affect Via Torelli. The administration confirms its commitment to the maintenance of the City, for better public lighting and for an increase in the perception of safety and liveability of the urban space. an important step to improve safety and quality of life in Parma. Furthermore, by adopting LED technologies, we not only improve the quality of lighting, but we also reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, contributing to environmental sustainability.”
