The two trees were badly mutilated by no one knows who, and therefore we ask the Bottaro administration for information, and the branches and foliage were left on the cliff, and part of them fell onto the rocks. Someone has hypothesized that the cutting of the trees took place in conjunction with the performance of the National Acrobatic Team (Frecce Tricolori): we don’t want to believe that this happened just to admire the planes better!
In addition to the environmental damage, a dangerous situation was created for swimmers who frequent those rocks, as the branches could fall on someone’s head, and also create dangers for navigation, as they fell into the water.
It was the swimmers themselves who collected those large branches, even from the sea, and alerted the Port Authority to make the place safe.
Moreover, many years ago the undersigned had proposed making the cliff safe with an appropriate terrace and ladder leading down to the sea.
We hope that other Trani associations interested in environmental protection will also intervene on the issue, while we have no illusions about the behavior of city councillors, who are too often indifferent to these issues, even those who boast of having an ecologist past.
