Legnano craftsmanship shapes time

Legnano – “Once upon a time it was called “going to the shop”, I want to say it again to today’s young people: just as our parents left us a profession as a legacy, just as civil society invites us to teach it, I want to pass it on to those who come after us, helping those who want to learn to “know how”, to transmit one’s qualities”, underlined Alfonso Dolce, CEO of D&G, at the start of the evening receiving the award as Honorary Rotary Parchi Member from the hands of President Paolo Tozzo of the Club Rotary Parchi Altomilanese, the organizing club of the event, with the contribution of Andrea and Emilia Paternostro.

Tradition, innovation, quality and elegance: these are the cornerstones they brought the D&G brand, an Italian high fashion house founded in 1985 by stylists Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Legnano and which today is based in Milan to establish itself in the world and to be recognized as the perfect combination of Italian craftsmanship and innovation, so much so that they were awarded the Rosa Camuna, the highest honor of the Lombardy Region (read here).

Twenty years ago the skill of Italian goldsmiths did not stand outis sincere Walter Veneruz, who arrived in the company 16 years ago, for what was supposed to be a “relaunch of the jewelry”. “Today, thanks to great technological potential, with fully trained master goldsmiths and watchmakers, we have high-end laboratories.”

From the heart to the hands”, is the exhibition underway at Palazzo Reale in Milan and which aims to celebrate the brand as a symbol of Italian style through the dream of Haute Couture. “Here, the heart and passion of man dominate everything and fit well into technological processes: creativity and thought shape the design. Each jewel will always be different from the other, because it is the result of the artist’s manual skills”, says Loredana Sangiovanni, manager of the goldsmith laboratory and in the company since 2008, explaining the various processes of making a jewel. “Since the presentation of our high-end watchmaking for the first time in Geneva, our collections have gone old out. We are waiting for the kids and their ideas to always create new creations”, he concludes Giancarlo Maretta, founder of the Italian watchmaking school.

The secret rooms of the watch and jewelery shop were also opened to visitors on Wednesday 12 June Members of the Olona Rotary Group (RC Parchi Altomilanese President Paolo Tozzo, RC Malpensa, RC Saronno President Paola Conti, Rotary Club Ticino President Luigi Rondanini, Rotary Club Castellanza President Nicola Zeni and Rotaract La Malpensa President Emma Solbiati, with them the District Governor Claudia Capoferri Minesi), thus discovering a more hidden side.
