Non-profit, “Buonissimi” in Salerno: food and wine to support pediatric oncology research

New location for Very good, the most anticipated charity event in Salerno. Now in its sixth edition, it will be staged on June 17, 2024 from 7.00 pm at the Port of Marina d’Arechi in Salerno. This year too the theme is Feeding research from A to Zwith the aim of raising funds for the three-year scientific research project “Editor”, which aims to identify genetic risk factors for pediatric cancers through next-generation sequencing and genomic editing.

Buonissimi is organized by Paola Pignataro and Silvana Tortorella for the Association ORoncology Peditorial AND Noeuroblastoma – OPEN OdV. The evening celebrates the food and wine excellences of the Mediterranean with an unprecedented participation of approximately 300 operators including chefs, star chefs, pizza chefs, pastry chefs, wineries, breweries and bartenders with particular attention to gluten-free and sustainability.

The president of OPEN OdV, Anna Maria Alfaniduring the press conference he explained the importance of the event:

Buonissimi is a splendid event that involves the city of Salerno and the whole of Campania and contributes to our mission of supporting scientific research in pediatric oncology. Research is essential to offer children with cancer the most advanced and definitive treatments. Over the past 30 years, research efforts have led to a dramatic increase in the cure rate, but there is still much work to be done. This event helps us raise vital funds to continue improving the future of our children.”

The prof. Capassoan important figure in the research specified: “Two revolutionary therapies, immunotherapy and precision medicine, are showing promising results. Our press program, in collaboration with the Gaslini Children’s Hospital in Genoa, focuses on children suffering from neuroblastoma, guaranteeing access to personalized therapies.”

Also the President of Marina di Arechi, Agostino Gallozziconfirmed his enthusiasm for the noble cause:

Buonissimi is a high profile event, well organized and aimed at a very important cause. We trust that the sea and the special atmosphere of our Gulf overlooking the Amalfi Coast will be the special ingredient of an evening characterized by very high food and wine quality, encouraging membership and raising funds for scientific research on pediatric tumors.”
