Lamezia Terme – The CISL Fp Magna Graecia, after having repeatedly requested an urgent meeting with the top management of the ASP of Catanzaro, brings to the attention of those responsible “the serious inconveniences for the staff of the Provincial Health Authority of Catanzaro”.
From the CISL Fp Magna Graecia, they write in a note “we would have liked to address together with the top management, as requested several times by the Commissioner, the very serious problems that afflict the staff and identify solutions capable of providing effective responses to their discomfort, but unfortunately we are experiencing a strong hostility towards our union. The motivation for this request is undoubtedly dictated by the serious critical issues and organizational difficulties that all the workers of the Catanzaro ASP face on a daily basis in an overall situation of staff shortages that have now become unsustainable. Despite their considerable work commitment, all staff are also forced to suffer delays in the payment of productivity relating to the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, which has not yet been paid to date. Suffice it to say that the 2019/2020 productivity was paid a few months ago. We also point out the difficulty faced by the staff working in the surgical rooms of the Soverato Hospital, especially the nurses who have been demoted because they are also forced to make up for the shortage of OSS staff. To date, we are still waiting for the opening of the new operating block which will allow the surgical activity to be centralized. In this summer period, as happens every year, the resident population, thanks to the presence of holidaymakers, increases considerably, this inevitably leads to an increase in the workload, especially in tourist resorts such as Soverato, Soveria Mannelli and Lamezia Terme, where there are also principals of the ASP of Catanzaro It is precisely the emergency/urgency area that suffers most from this situation who finds himself in a more difficult situation. This excessive workload for healthcare personnel does not allow for adequate psychophysical recovery and translates into a harmful attitude towards the worker”.
Furthermore, they highlight that “only thanks to the spirit of service and the availability of the staff, so far it has been possible to guarantee assistance to citizens, even with seriously insufficient staff in many services and structures. The CISL FP is always close to the workers, ready to defend them in the appropriate places, in fact for longer than the union has been reporting the lack of personnel. We would have expected the company to publish new competitions, regional and inter-regional mobility, for the recruitment of missing staff, such as for example the filling of director positions of five complex structures, currently filled by acting managers. The radiology departments of Lamezia, Soverato and Soveria Mannelli are suffering with long waiting lists and also the analysis laboratories of the prefabricated hospitals, in particular the Pathological Anatomy of Lamezia Terme, a fundamental structure supporting surgical activities, currently with serious shortages of medical and technical personnel. In the Lamezia Terme facility there is also an important and well-equipped Genetics laboratory which unfortunately has reduced its activity due to a lack of personnel. Faced with the continuing gravity of the situation, the undersigned OS will be forced to act accordingly and deal with the measures provided for by our legal system, we ask publicly and for the last time the urgent opening of a table for the discussion with the Extraordinary Commissioner of the ASP of Catanzaro, to discuss the problem inherent to the organic shortages of the staff”.
