Homage to Ravenna Festival

Via Zirardini and the Mosaic temporary shop of the IAT (Tourist Information and Reception), pay homage to the Ravenna Festival. In the open-air gallery in via Zirardini it is possible to admire, until the end of June, the story in images created in collaboration with the Ravenna Festival, which this year is entitled And it was evening and it was morning: the words that in Genesis mark the succession of the days of Creation. This edition of the Ravenna Festival also reflects on the effects of climate change on our planet, adopting new eco-sustainable practices for live entertainment, but also on the value of creativity as a resource for inclusive and multicultural communities.

And until mid-July the spaces of the Mosaic temporary shop of the IAT in Piazza San Francesco are also dedicated to the Ravenna Festival, to music in general and to summer nights.

Ravenna Festival represents an important event in the summer cultural panorama of Ravenna and through their creations the mosaic artists wanted to pay homage to this event and to music in general.
In fact, there are several musicians who have drawn inspiration from the mosaics of Ravenna for their compositions, demonstrating how the various forms of art interpenetrate and dialogue with each other and craftsmanship transforms them into precious furnishing objects. The mosaic is a characterizing element of Ravenna and also in its main entrance door, the Iat, welcomes the tourist in an ever new and surprising way.

Please also remember that at the Mosaic temporary shop it is possible to purchase the works on display created thanks to the collaboration with the “Racconti Ravennati” group, an all-female representation of our city, made up of the Annafietta – Mosaicisti in Ravenna workshops, Barbara Liverani Studio, Dimensione Mosaico by Elisa Brighi and Evelina Garoni, Koko Mosaico by Arianna Gallo and Pixel Mosaici by Lea Ciambelli, associated with CNA Ravenna.

It is also possible to collect the “Passport” at the IAT: visit the participating shops to obtain a nice gadget once the tour is completed. The Mosaic Temporary Shop was financed as part of the Project for UNESCO sites Ravenna City of Mosaic, of the Ministry of Tourism.
