Now in Samarate they are looking for “convergences” towards the ballot

«In electoral campaigns we strive to win and defeat someone, but in politics we often have to find convergences to walk together and to build something new.” Thus speaks the secretary of the Democratic Party of Samarate Sergio Broglia, the day after the first round.

We go to the ballot and negotiations begin between mayoral candidates and lists.
The second round will see the direct challenge between Alessandro Ferrazzi and Enrico Puricelli, center-left and center-right.

Broglia speaks of “convergences” and not of “alliances”, to arrive at a discontinuity after fifteen years of Lega traction.

Ferrazzi will be able to aggregate (and in what forms?) the lists that collected the 57% of votes that did not go to Puricelli’s centre-right?

And the opposite Does the center-right have room to find new partners to go beyond its 42%?

Far from women’s quotas: in Samarate the preferences reward women

Below is the full press release.

An important result, but that’s not all

It is obvious that I am satisfied – begins the PD Secretary of Samarate Sergio Broglia.
The run-off was the minimum result we had set ourselves as a coalition, and after the results of the European elections it certainly wasn’t a given.

In my opinion, what made the difference, I am obviously talking about the PD, was the quality of the list (in addition to the candidate for Mayor, to whom our compliments and thanks go).
A young woman but already with a long political experience and a great social commitment as leader was an important signal, and the preference votes confirmed the validity of this choice.

The inclusion of young elements who were themselves representative of the associative world was an added bonus.

And then, let me tell you, it rewarded teamwork: in short, we worked in harmony.
Now let’s think about the run-off round and the possible convergences.
We have a political and moral duty to create an alternative that can replace, with numbers and not just intentions, those who have mismanaged over the last 14 years.

I use the term convergences because, in my opinion, it sounds better than alliances.
In electoral campaigns we work hard to win and defeat someone, but in politics we often have to find convergences to walk together and build something new.

Obviously we as PD already have names to propose to our candidate for Mayor as possible councilors, names that respect the three qualities that as Secretary I requested at the beginning of the electoral campaign: a certain degree of experience and competence, the right availability of time and the ability to create empathy with officials and all municipal employees. That is, right people in the right place, and not amateurs at risk.

The next few days will obviously be hectic, to explore and understand the possibilities of alliances, which we will only do if they are for the good of the city.
