GENOA – Paolo Piacenza resigned from the role of Extraordinary Commissioner of the Port of Genoa: this was announced by the deputy minister of Transport Infrastructure Edoardo Rixi. The appointment of the president of the Port System Authority is in fact the responsibility of the ministry, which in this case instead had to accept the resignation. Piacenza is therefore included in the role of General Secretary of the Institution to support the newly appointed Extraordinary Commissioner, the admiral Massimo Seno.
The appointment of Piacenza took place following the transition of the former president of the Port Authority Paolo Emilio Signorini, one of the cornerstones of the investigation and the only suspect in prison, to CEO of Iren. Piacenza himself had been investigated for abuse of office as part of the investigation.
