LIVORNO. Exponential growth. That makes the heart beat. How exciting Giuseppe Pera: he can’t believe his eyes when all seventy-one students from Enriques high school arrive at Villa Fabbricotti with gloves, pliers and bags ready to clean up the city park. The high school students chose “I dear Livorno”. It is the so-called PCTO path promoted by Reset.

«Seeing all 71 of them arrive was an incredible emotion», comments the president of that association of volunteers who have made themselves available for common goods since 2016, without asking for anything in return. It revives public city monuments and gives them new life, see Terme del Corallo, Villa Maurogordato, now Villa Rodocanacchi, to give a few examples. And also include the cleaning of the Dutch-Alemannic monumental cemetery which with them, in agreement with the congregation, will be more usable and visitable.

And Reset has been bringing this culture of common goods to schools for years. The appointment at Villa Fabbricotti was the second.

«In the park of Villa Fabbricotti we collected some bags of waste (strange, the park is full of bins, why don’t you use them?) a nice helmet complete with a snail inside and 5 bottles of orangeade still full, but expired and hidden behind a hedge . Many, including us, complimented the boys”, comments Pera. Also with them in the Villa are the Acchiapparifuuti volunteers.

The debut of I Care Livorno was at the Queen’s rock, again with the high school students of Enriques, the 3rd E class. «With great pride – the president says again – we proudly record the exponential growth of the participants: in 2022 there were 12 students, in 2023 they became 27 and in 2024 over one hundred».

And continues «this project sees the patronage of the Municipality of Livorno and the collaboration of Aamps and Acchiapparifiuti».

Here is the entire list of places that will be sifted by the volunteers, adults and on school desks, from 9 to 12 «And always around 11.30 a snack offered by Reset is planned».

First week: Villa Fabbricotti, Parco Pertini – Parterre, Scoglio della Regina, Villa Rodocanacchi

2nd week: 17 June villa Mimbelli; June 18 Moletto Ardenza; June 19 Villa Maria; June 20 Villa Corridi; June 21 Moletto Antignano,

Pera takes a step back: «In February, some lessons on the art were held. 118 of the Constitution on the principle of subsidiarity and the care of common goods. Thank you to all the girls and boys who joined this project”, she concludes.
