TERAMO – The funeral of Gianni Di Marco, the Teramo entrepreneur who passed away at the age of 71 after an illness, will be celebrated tomorrow, Thursday 13 June, at 3pm. The religious function will be held in the church of the Immaculate Heart in Piazza Garibaldi.
With Di Marco, not only the entrepreneur is missing but also a passionate sports manager, whose name is linked to the past history of one of the most famous teams in the city, Atletico Teramo, but also the active collaboration within other sports clubs such as Teramo football. During the years of Campitelli’s management, for example, the contribution to the red and white cause was guaranteed with the availability of the fire service at the Bonolis stadium (as he had also done at the former glorious Comunale), with the personnel and equipment of his company, Tecnofire.
Gianni Di Marco, together with his brother Luciano, both very well known in sporting circles, represented a point of reference in the then Atletico Teramo, which has always been considered the second city club, at least until the years of its merger with Nepezzano. In particular, he was the protagonist in that club composition that won in the 95/96 Promotion championship and which played in the Excellence Championship the following year.
Present and available, his character made him an appreciated and loved manager. The many friends, former players and managers, today join in grief with his family, his wife Rita, his son Federico and his father Vincenzo. The funeral home was set up in the Petrucci Carlo funeral home, in Villa Pavone.
