Molfetta is preparing to become the stage of first edition of MolFest, the festival dedicated to POP culture, which will be held on 29 and 30 June 2024. The event, conceived and promoted by the Municipality of Molfetta with the support of STEP srl, it aims to enhance the cultural and associative riches of the territory through a unique and engaging experience.
The festival, free and open to all, promises to be a true celebration of different forms of art. MolFest will not only be an opportunity to attend shows and concerts, but also a moment to explore the link between local culture and the dynamics of a national event.
The heart of MolFest will beat in the picturesque alleys of the historic center of Molfetta, where over 100 events will take place, with over 60 local associations involved to guarantee a vast and inclusive cultural offer. The festival will be animated by music, theatre, games, discussion panels and much more.
Among the announced guests include Cristina D’Avenaan icon of children’s music and Gisella Cozzowhile the comics area will see the presence of Simone Bianchi, a well-known designer in the American comics world. The cinema and television area will host figures such as Ubaldo Pantani and Paolo Camilli, offering the public a variety of entertainment ranging from humor to artistic performances.
MolFest stands out for its innovative approach to the organization of cultural events. The strategy adopted aims to develop synergies between the various actors in the area, creating a virtuous circuit that strengthens the entire community. MolFest, the new creature of the CFC (Comics Festival Community) circuit), will be a great opportunity for leisure, for emotional enrichment, a place where for two days, open from 4.30 pm until midnight, everyone, from the oldest to the youngest, will have the opportunity to have fun, discover new things from the world of pop and to immerse yourself in the “kindness” that this event will offer, thus transforming itself into a catalyst for tourism, an incentive for the local economy and a means of strengthening the sense of belonging to the community of Molfetta.
Respecting his cultural frontier tradition, MolFest 2024 will include a section dedicated exclusively to oriental culture. Located in the picturesque Villa Comunale, this area will present the best of Kpop with performances by renowned Apulian crews such as Heavens, QTDreams, Misul Crew and Zero O’ Clock. Coordinated by KST, an important association in the Kpop contest scene, these artists will bring the energy and color of Korean pop culture to the stage.
The festival will also celebrate the universe of cosplay with the participation of groups such as Apulia Cosplay, Dragonball Puglia, GOT Puglia, Jojo_Bizzarri_Raduni and Behind Animation, which will take care of the highly anticipated cosplay competition. This event is configured as a real meeting point for enthusiasts of costume and fantasy, offering a platform to show their creativity and passion.
Beyond Kpop and cosplay, MolFest is a tribute to artistic diversity. Arterie Teatro will propose an interactive show on the theme of kindness which will involve spectators directly on the boats, in collaboration with the Circolo Nautico Ippocampo. On the streets of the city, Il Carro dei Comici will delight the public with the Game Book Crossing and the Spazzacamin show, while the Teatro dei Cipis will entertain the little ones with activities focused on hug therapy.
The Fornari high school will perform with a great musical show, while important partners such as Echo Group will introduce previews of film trailers. Maxdevil will offer a wide range of gadgets, and the Veronesi Foundation will raise public awareness on health and environmental issues with the web game “Smogville – Until the Last Breath”.
