The carer who was supposed to take care of an elderly disabled person was arrested in Agrigento for episodes of violence: framed by audio and video interceptions.
The bruises on the father’s body, then the phone call to the police. It was the children who noticed the violence and triggered the investigation by the Agrigento flying squad of the abused elderly person. As emerged from the investigations, the disabled person would have been mistreated both physically and psychologically by the carer who was supposed to take care of him.
To nail the woman, from Agrigento, the Images collected by the Police thanks to wiretaps inside the victim’s home, both audio and video. The pensioner’s family had decided to report the violence after having also spoken to another carer who took care of the elderly man, who had begun to have doubts about her colleague’s work.
Senile dementia and motor disabilities, the man resident in Agrigento would have suffered, as the officers learned, jerks, slaps, punches, scratches. Different types of physical violence, but also verbal and psychological. The woman is now in the Pasquale Di Lorenzo prison in Agrigento.
Precautionary custody order
A precautionary custody order was issued for the caregiver by the Court of Agrigento, with the officers making the arrest in the last few hours. The hypothesis of a crime is that of aggravated mistreatment. The caregiver would have repeatedly provoked psychological violence on the elderly man, with insults and threatening phrases, forced him to sleep against his will, taunted him with imitations of his screams of pain and the pensioner would have been forcibly administered drugs, in the form of drops diluted in glasses of water.
