Barletta will be the stage of the next appointment of the project of the Youth Sector of Catholic Action, Seeds of legality. Before the summer break, on June 12th at 7 pm at the church of Sant’Antonio there is a presentation of the book “Investigation of a puppeteer. The judge’s manuscript”, by the magistrate Roberto Oliveri del Castillo, Città del Sole editions, 237 pages .

The volume unfolds through a series of events in which there are thieving landowners, bishops and magistrates united by private vices hidden by public virtues, thugs, escorts, professors who impose scantily clad dress codes on interns, who are counterbalanced by humanity recovered in the host community led by a Sandinista priest, Fra Kuros, a priest halfway between Zeno, the protagonist of The Black Opera by Marguerite Yourcenar, and the bishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero, killed just as he was saying mass in a hospital, while lifting the consecrated host.

After a series of twists and turns, the justice machine finally sets in motion, restoring dignity to the victims and unmasking the plots of the powerful. It is a light story, a social thriller that can be read in one sitting, in which the grotesque caliber of the characters makes the narrative more enjoyable. The book was chosen because it presents a conception of justice as the only possible barrier to “bridle the Leviathan”; a justice that intervenes to heal wounds, to repair wrongs, to free the weak from the yoke of the powerful, as Domenico Gallo writes in the afterword. The meeting will be presented by the lawyer Elisabetta Mastrototaro; the lawyer Enzo Varricchio and the professor Roberto Tarantino will dialogue with the author.

The organizers wanted to propose this meeting to talk about those places that should be the main protagonists of legality which, instead, are very often characterized by shadows and temptations. The event is part of the rich calendar of events promoted by the Youth Sector of the diocesan Catholic Action, with the support of the BAT prefecture, the province, the seven municipalities and the Archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie; the project, now in its third edition, is aimed at adults and children, born on the occasion of the thirty years of the massacres in which judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino lost their lives.
