The baby footballer Andrea Vincenzi killed by whooping cough: they didn’t realize it in the hospital

At the emergency room in Chivasso (Turin) they did not notice Andrea Vincenzi’s whooping cough which caused fatal respiratory failure. This is what emerges from the report by Dr. Alessandro Marchesi, a consultant appointed by the Ivrea prosecutor’s office who is investigating the death of the Gassino San Raffale footballer died at the age of 12 on the night of February 22ndafter being discharged three times in 48 hours from the emergency room of Chivasso hospital.

In the report, Dr Marchesi does not go into the merits of specific faults, but recommends further consultancy. He writes: «A specialist integration by a consultant specialized in pediatrics in order to evaluate the adequacy of the clinical management of the minor during visits to the Chivasso emergency room”.

A misfortune that shocked the country and the entire community. The Vincenzi family, father Roberto and mother Valeria, have not given up since then. They relied on the lawyer Stefano Castrale, who, reading the report of the prosecutor’s consultant, commented: «It’s time that the responsibilities of those who handled little Andrea in the emergency room come to light.”

Meanwhile, on the investigation front, the file on the desk of prosecutor Maria Baldari remains, for now, with unknown persons.
