TREVISO – The agents of Yellow Flames of the Provincial Command of Treviso recently exposed the outcome of a targeted investigation, which culminated in the identification of three individuals who carried out the role of real estate brokers without the necessary legal qualifications. The action falls within the scope of a continuous monitoring of the local economy to ensure compliance with current regulations.

Financial Police operation

The operation was carried out by the financiers of the Conegliano Company, who discovered that these self-styled “professionals” they were active within the same real estate agency and had completed numerous purchase and sale transactions. These activities were carried out in total absence of the authorizations required by law, highlighting a non-negligible problem in the real estate sector.

Sanctions and consequences

Following the checks, severe administrative sanctions were imposed on the three agents, for a value that could reach up to 15,000 euros. In addition, the Financial Police notified the Chamber of Commerce of Treviso-Belluno the initiation of procedures for the restitution of sums unduly received by customers, quantified at approximately 25,000 euros.

Only the mediators duly enabled and registered they have the right to demand compensation for the services offered, a rule clearly violated in this case.

Objectives and importance of sanctions

Administrative sanctions aim to counteract the negative effects deriving from illegal practices in this field. In case of repetition of the offences, one may incur the crime of abusive exercise of a profession, punished with imprisonment from six months to three years and fines from 10,000 to 50,000 euros.

This intervention by the Financial Police underlines the importance of constant supervision of the sector, to protect honest operators and protect consumers from possible fraud, which is particularly frequent in an environment in which illegal practices are easy to spread.
