The International University of Rome – UNINT ITS – Academy Roberto Rossellini and ITSSI – Istituto Tecnico Superiore Servizi alle Imprese launch “Digital4life”, an innovative project – selected and supported by the Fund for the Digital Republic – Social Enterprise – dedicated to professional retraining of 146 unemployed and unemployed people, aged between 34 and 50, residing in the peripheral areas of Lazio. Digital4life is presented on Wednesday 12 June with the event “It’s never too digital, how digital skills can create value for the realities of the Lazio region”, which will be held at 3pm at the headquarters of the University of International Studies of Rome UNINT, in via Cristoforo Colombo 200 (streaming for those who cannot participate in person). Experts and representatives of the three promoting bodies will participate in the meeting to illustrate to the public the innovative characteristics of the professional retraining project.

The objectives of the project

Digital4life aims to improve employment opportunities and promote social inclusion, creating employable professional profiles. The project, lasting 15 months, aims to develop and increase the digital and specialist skills of this segment of the population, aligning them with the current demands of the job market. Among the specific objectives of the project is promoting professional retraining through a lifelong learning model; improve soft skills, such as the ability to adapt to change and digital networking; Support the transition to emerging digital sectors; promote self-entrepreneurship with specific skills and information on financing and business management.

The types of courses

The project includes two types of completely free courses: Digital Skills and Transversal Skills, which can be combined together to create personalized paths. Each participant will be able to choose up to four paths, composed of two of digital skills and two of transversal skills. The basic digital courses will last 50 hours each, while the professional courses in the commercial/marketing sector will offer specializations in Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, WordPress and CRM. Transversal skills will include courses in Self Empowerment and Personal Branding, Effective Communication, Team Working, Netiquette, Remote Collaboration Strategies and Written Communication. The project uses a blended teaching method, combining in-person lessons and synchronous FAD (distance learning). The FAD lessons will be recorded and made available to students on the UNINT e-learning and training platform, guaranteeing accessibility and flexibility.

Inclusion and services to encourage participation

One of the most innovative aspects that deserves to be underlined is that Digital4life offers numerous services to facilitate participation and reconciliation with private life. These include flexible hours options, coworking spaces, parenting support services, inclusion and wellbeing. Furthermore, the “Baby Space Service” for children, “Homework Space” for children, sporting and creative activities, Italian courses for foreigners and digital information pills. To accompany work, the project also includes orientation and personalized placement activities, recruiting events, virtual job meetings, motivational speeches and interview simulation services. Job search support, CV and professional profile writing, and information on self-entrepreneurship will be offered.
