One of the “acquisitions” the most important for Toro 2024/2025 will be the return of Perr Schuurs, who has been in the pits since October due to a torn cruciate. With summer training starting next month, it is possible to draw up a program in view of the defender’s return to full capacity. According to what Toro News can confirm, there were some hitches in the recovery and the times took longer than the first forecasts: Schuurs will not start working immediately with his new teammates at the start of the new season, but aims to be available for the start of the championship, when around ten months will have passed since the injury. If no other complications arise, in fact, the Dutchman will return to group training in the first ten days of August, when the team will have already finished the pre-season training camp in Pinzolo. A similar scenario could allow the central defender to return to the squad for the first match of the Italian Cup (10/11 August) in order to re-experience the atmosphere of a match. At that point the objective would become to recover playing time, gradually getting the ninety minutes back into the legs for the first days of the new championship. The imperative will be to avoid new relapses and problems of all kinds: Schuurs is currently working intensely in Turin to try not to further extend the recovery time.
