New city council. This is who the chosen ones are. The record belongs to Belgiorno. The PD derby in Squittieri

Prato, 11 June 2024 – The Democratic Party goes all-out and sends 15 representatives to the city council, among other things by “snatching” to the last section examined a councilor on the civic list This is Prato Bugetti. The record number of preferences is set by a centre-right candidate, Claudio Belgiorno of Fratelli d’Italia who reaches the unforeseeable figure of 1,862 preferences. The balance of power in the city council will instead be 20 councilors for the majority and 12 for the opposition.

To support the new mayor of Prato Ilaria Bugetti there will also be a councilor from the 5 Star Movement, one from Sinistra Unita, one from Questa è Prato, and two from La Forza del Noi. In the centre-left coalition the only list that does not have a councilor is that of +Europa which stops at 0.73%. In the ranks of the opposition, however, Forza Italia returns to the seats of the city council after five years of absence, electing Rita Pieri who almost beats Aldo Milone in a photo finish (468 for her who could have been the new deputy mayor in the event of victory by Notes, 424 for the former security councilor). Fratelli d’Italia elects five councillors, while four are appointed to the civic list of Cenni, author of a real exploit. The League also enters the council with Cladiu Stanasel, who with 212 preferences defeats the outgoing group leader Daniele Spada (still at 131 votes), but above all Umberto Presutti Gallinella who reaches 171 personal votes. The Silli list is out of the council, and naturally a place among the benches in the Municipality square goes to the new opposition leader Gianni Cenni.

Going into more detail about the composition of the new city council, starting from the centre-left, the most voted are two women from the Democratic Party: Benedetta Squittieri who obtained the first preference vote 1,203 personal consents, and Maria Logli who stops at 1,134. Marco Sapia also breaks the thousand mark with 1,041 preferences. Exploit compared to five years ago for Lorenzo Tinagli (867), Gabriele Alberti did well with 774 votes, and Edoardo Carli’s performance was also very positive (707 votes). Scrolling through the new city councilors we find the former councilor Simone Mangani (563), the new entry Aksel Fazio (521), the other new face Francesca Faggi (461 preferences). Martina Guerrini and Matilde Rosati are confirmed in the city council with 459 personal votes, and finally there are three new entries: Martina Cacciato (447), Gianluca Coppini (425), and Francesco Bellandi (425). The last position sees a tie: both Derio Bacci and Monia Faltoni obtain 416 votes. However, both will be on the council because at least one of the 14 councilors preceding them will be a councilor. We remember that the last available place he was snatched by the Democratic Party from the last section scrutinized, mocking Luigi Galardi of the This is Prato list for the mechanism of the remains.

Also in the running for the post-composition repechage of the council Paola Tassi (380 votes) and Maurizio Calussi (375 preferences). Their fate is linked to the decisions of the mayor Bugetti in choosing the councillors. Moving on to the other majority councillors, La Forza del Noi elects Rosanna Sciumbata (402 votes) and Sandra Mugnaioni (278). This is Prato with Enrico Romei dominating with 661 preferences. In the 5 Stars Chiara Bartalini enters with 186 votes, while Lorenzo Chiani passes in the United Left with 282 preferences.

In the opposition, said by Gianni Cenni, Rita Pieri (Forza Italia), Claudiu Stanasel (Lega) and Claudio Belgiorno, for Fratelli d’Italia Tommaso Cocci also enters (810), Eleonora Cioni (562), Cosimo Zecchi (414) and Rocco Rizzo (346). The following pass through the Cenni street: Leonardo Soldi (248), Rossella Risaliti (236), Fabio Piccioli (175) and Lorenzo Frasconi (164).
